Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role focuses on scheduling, cost forecasting, and performance reporting to support project success across stages and teams.

Ideal candidates will understand project management basics, have familiarity with Primavera P6 and EcoSys, and possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, vendors, and clients in a hybrid environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to federal contract requirements and/or eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills with varying levels of staff and vendors.
• Entry knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to deal with many people and process various requests.
• Good computer skills in MS Word and Excel; organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and gathers project progress information to update and monitor projects of basic complexity.
• Under supervision, develops and maintains integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports and discusses observations with supervisor and project manager.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
