Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in the United States. This role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance to help projects stay on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of project management methodologies, earns value management experience, and works well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A Bachelor's degree is required; travel up to 10% may be expected.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Gathers project progress information from project manager and project team members to update and monitor the project of basic complexity.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs; updates requirements as required.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and government regulations.
• Under direct supervision, develops, maintains, and analyzes integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports for basic projects and discusses observations with supervisor and project manager.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
