Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Atlanta team, evaluating complex enterprise business models, credit exposure, and balancing risk with commercial opportunity.

You will collaborate across Risk, Sales and Legal, underwriting high-value merchants in travel, ticketing, securities, and gaming, and present insights to senior leadership and partner banks. This role offers hybrid work in Atlanta with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise: 4+ years in merchant underwriting or related financial analysis.
• Financial acumen: assess diverse business models and credit risk exposure.
• Customer-first mindset: communicate clearly with commercial solutions without increasing risk.

Responsibilities

• Deconstruct complex business models to unlock high-value deals within risk guidelines.
• Underwrite merchants in high-risk verticals such as travel, ticketing, securities, and gaming.
• Quantify credit exposure and tailor approaches per merchant nuances.
• Drive financial due diligence by analyzing P&L, balance sheets, and cash flows.
• Synthesize risks into clear recommendations for senior management and partner banks.
• Be the face of underwriting, collaborating with Sales and Account Management on client calls.
• Enable next-gen payouts by assessing applications for Pay to Card and Pay to Bank solutions.
