Job summary

Nelnet, Inc. is seeking a software developer in the Lincoln, NE area to design and implement enterprise-wide solutions.

The role requires collaborating with IT architects and analysts to translate business requirements into technical specs and deliver against diverse programs. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in CS (or equivalent) and at least 3 years of software development experience, with strong relational DB skills and understanding of the SDLC and agile delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with strong skills in at least one key competency.
Strong relational database knowledge.
Understanding of best practices and methods to integrate applications within the organization and with external partners.

Responsibilities

Participate in solution design to satisfy a wide range of business needs.
Analysis and translation of business requirements into technical requirements for development, and creation of design documents and technical specifications.
Adhere to Best Practices and Standards in the areas of technology and security.
Provide post implementation support including monitoring application performance and debugging existing code.
Keep abreast of advancements and changes in technology and develop an understanding of how new technologies can be leveraged to provide business solutions.
