Nelnet, Inc. is seeking a software developer to design and translate business requirements into technical specifications within a hybrid work environment.

The role emphasizes security, code quality, and post-implementation support as part of a cross-functional IT team. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent and at least 3 years of software development experience, with familiarity in the SDLC and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle; exposure to agile delivery preferred.
• Knowledge of NIST compliance strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Participate in solution design to satisfy a wide range of business needs.
• Analysis and translation of business requirements into technical requirements for development, and creation of design documents and technical specifications.
• Adhere to Best Practices and Standards in technology and security.
• Provide post-implementation support including monitoring application performance and debugging existing code.
• Keep abreast of advancements in technology and explore how new tech can be leveraged to provide business solutions.
