Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a Customer Contact Center Representative in Amarillo, TX. The role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service across channels, handling energy-related inquiries, and educating customers on services and rates.

You’ll train in-person for seven weeks with three months on-site, then transition to possible remote work based on performance. Expect on-call duties and shifts outside normal hours in a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months of customer service experience or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in hardware and software technology with focus on Microsoft Windows.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve tech-related issues with minimal disruption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service through multiple channels, mainly phone calls.
• Anticipate customer needs and offer tailored solutions using problem-solving skills.
• Use critical thinking to address and resolve complex inquiries.
• Provide specialized technical support to customers.
• Respond to gas and electric emergencies with precision for public safety.
• Handle calls professionally, empathetically, and script-guided when needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation and some weekends as required.
• Perform additional duties, including special projects.
