Job summary

California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is seeking an Emergency Services Coordinator in the Inland Region. You will act as the primary interface between state and local governments, coordinating resources and information during disasters and supporting preparedness during non-emergency periods.

Ideal candidates will have disaster response experience, strong collaboration skills with local agencies, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience responding to disasters.
• Knowledge of state disaster preparedness and response protocols and SEMS.
• Experience working with local government agencies.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local emergency preparedness laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport and collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Experience coordinating multiple multidisciplinary partners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to provide real-time intelligence for situational awareness and decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface between state and local governments on emergency management initiatives.
• Provide advisory support and coordination to local and tribal governments, regional staff, and state agencies.
• Lead and support emergency management projects and preparedness initiatives.
• Respond to disasters and emergencies statewide, including after-hours deployments when required.
• Maintain routine program responsibilities while addressing short-term urgent assignments.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Develop and implement solutions to complex emergency management challenges.
