Job summary

Southern California Edison is seeking a Planning Specialist to serve as the single point of contact for identifying, prioritizing, and assigning projects to the appropriate department. You will monitor budgets, timelines, and field data to support efficient project delivery and compliance.

This hybrid role requires coordinating with multiple teams, performing field inspections, and applying engineering principles to distribution planning while protecting sensitive data and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Design or Engineering.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and industry practices.
• Experience with CAD, GIS, or similar design tools.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Capability to read or create simple distribution or technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develops construction plans, drawings, and circuit maps with cost estimates and compliance checks.
• Interacts with customers to meet electrical design needs and ensure successful outcomes.
• Manages multiple projects with project management principles under tight time constraints.
• Performs field inspections to verify planning development projects.
• Protects assets and manages private data with high standards of conduct.
