Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Industrial Business Unit to design and deliver complex substation and industrial power projects, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency of power systems. This hybrid role can be based out of CDM Smith offices with collaboration across the firm.

You will create designs, perform calculations, and develop technical documents while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with sales to align with project specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Travel frequency depends on workload and project needs.

Responsibilities

• Create basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems.
• Conduct studies and calculations for power systems, lighting, communications, fire and security systems.
• Develop technical papers and designs for publication; update design requirements as needed.
• Attend conferences with sales staff to promote firm products and services.
• Perform other duties as required; mentor junior team members.
