Job summary

Stillpoint AEC, a respected MEP consulting engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for Washington DC + Northern Virginia. The role focuses on designing building electrical systems, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and contributing to project delivery across a diverse portfolio.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with experience in building systems design, NEC/NFPA knowledge, and familiarity with industry software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
• Current electrical building systems design experience within an MEP/AEC environment required.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and related building electrical systems.
• PE licensure desired; EIT candidates progressing toward PE will be considered.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing.
• Develop power distribution diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts and specifications.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing and other disciplines.
• Support design phases from schematic through construction administration.
• Provide mentorship and guidance based on experience.
