Job summary

Stillpoint AEC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design building electrical systems within an MEP consulting environment in San Francisco. The role emphasizes power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems, with involvement across project phases.

Responsibilities include load calculations, single-line diagrams, coordination with other disciplines, and preparation of construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Current electrical building systems design experience in MEP/AEC environment required.
• PE licensure preferred; EIT candidates actively progressing toward PE will be considered.
• Experience with software such as Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, AGi32, Visual Lighting or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing, and related analyses.
• Develop power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, lighting controls, and electrical equipment specifications.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, and other disciplines.
• Prepare calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, energy codes and building/electrical design standards.
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, and construction administration.
