Job summary

Legence seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our nationwide consulting teams, with hybrid options across multiple locations. The role supports the design of high‑performance electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities, with opportunities at engineer or senior levels based on experience.

The ideal candidate collaborates well, demonstrates technical strength, and strives for safe, efficient, and sustainable building systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering or related field.
Experience in MEP consulting engineering; senior level needs more.
Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, or healthcare.
Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred.
Familiarity with NEC and applicable building codes.
FE/EIT registration preferred; PE licensure or ability to obtain PE is a plus.
Healthcare codes (HCAI/OSHPD) and Net Zero / sustainable design is a plus.
LEED Accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and controls.
Prepare, review, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specs.
Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to solve design challenges.
Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and internal teams via clear communication.
Design and specify system components to meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and field conditions for conformance.
