Job summary

Sungrow North America is seeking an Electrical Engineer - BESS for a hybrid/onsite role in the Los Angeles area. The role reports to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager and sits within the service engineering group, acting as a key senior member of the team.

The position emphasizes field engineering, customer interaction, and collaboration with R&D in China to produce technical documents and training. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in power electronics related companies in service/engineering roles or 2 years with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience in solar, battery, or power electronics is preferred.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to use test equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments on installation, operation, testing and maintenance of solar inverters and battery storage systems.
• Lead complex field engineering tasks and coordinate with R&D.
• Explain technical scopes to customers and create field service procedures.
• Provide training to customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Analyze failures and generate root-cause reports to customers.
• Collaborate with HQ engineering for documentation and training.
