Job summary

Connexus Energy is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to support planning, operation, and improvement of the electric distribution system. This role applies engineering principles to analyze system needs, support system modeling and automation, and develop solutions that enhance safety and reliability while building broad electric utility experience.

The position offers a hybrid work schedule. After the initial six-month training period, employees may work remotely up to three days per

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills based on engineering principles.
• Proficiency with standard engineering software tools.
• Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and field teams.
• Current and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform distribution system studies and modeling to evaluate capacity, voltage, reliability, load balance, and other system needs.
• Analyze system data and develop engineering recommendations for system improvements and future needs.
• Support ADMS, SCADA, distribution automation, controls, communications, and distributed energy resource applications.
• Lead small engineering projects and contribute to larger projects involving system improvements and new development.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives considering safety, reliability, cost, constructability, protection, and long-term system needs.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Conduct field investigations and provide engineering support to operations, design, construction, maintenance, IT, and other teams.
