Job summary

Connexus Energy is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to support planning, operation, and improvements of the electric distribution system. You will apply engineering principles to model systems and develop solutions that enhance safety and reliability, gaining broad utility experience.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule in Ramsey, MN, with six-month training and an option to work remotely up to three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a foundation in engineering principles.
• Proficiency with standard engineering software tools.
• Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and field teams.
• Current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform distribution system studies and modeling to evaluate capacity, voltage, reliability, load balance, and other system needs.
• Analyze system data and develop engineering recommendations for system improvements and future needs.
• Support ADMS, SCADA, distribution automation, controls, communications, and distributed energy resource applications.
• Lead small engineering projects and contribute to larger projects involving system improvements and new development.
• Evaluate engineering alternatives considering safety, reliability, cost, constructability, protection, and long-term system needs.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Conduct field investigations and provide engineering support to operations, design, construction, maintenance, IT, and other teams.
