Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group is hiring an Entry-Level Electrical Design Technician for a hybrid role focused on electric utility projects. You will support fire mitigation, grid resiliency, and infrastructure improvements through design, GIS/CAD drafting, and field assessments.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in utility design (electric preferred), electrical construction, or civil/mechanical drafting.
• Experience with GIS platforms (such as GE Smallworld), AutoCAD, or utility-specific design software is a plus.
• Training will be provided on utility design systems and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design electric distribution projects (overhead and underground) from initiation to completion, with focus on fire mitigation, pole replacements, and system hardening.
• Create, update, and revise construction sketches, drawings, and joint-use proposals using GIS platforms and drafting software.
• Perform utility design calculations including pole loading, transformer sizing, and underground cable routing.
• Conduct field visits to residential, commercial, and WUI sites to gather design data.
• Track project lifecycles, manage Bills of Materials, and coordinate with scheduling and construction crews.
• Communicate design solutions to customers and land owners to resolve field conflicts.
