Job summary

Bay Area Legal Services, Inc. seeks a full-time Hybrid Elder Law Staff Attorney to represent senior clients in civil matters, including public benefits, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, housing, probate, and life-planning issues. The New Port Richey office supervises this role.

The position requires a JD, Florida Bar in good standing, and at least one year of elder law or related experience. Travel to client meetings and collaboration with attorneys is expected.

Qualifications

• JD in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• One year of Public Benefits, Housing, and/or Elder Law experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist seniors by phone and in person.
• Interview clients to determine eligibility for services.
• Counsel clients and refer to public resources as needed.
• Represent clients in court and provide emergency advocacy when required.
• Develop case strategies and prepare pleadings, briefs, and arguments.
