Job summary

Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a Child Care Coach to support Type III centers and family child care providers with best practices and developmental guidance.

You will coach on early learning standards, TS GOLD and CLASS, and assist with lesson planning and classroom observations. The role involves on-site visits, on-site coaching, and preparing reports while collaborating with the Louisiana Department of Education and regional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate credential.
• 1-3 years relevant experience in an early childhood setting.
• Knowledge of CLASS, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Birth to Kindergarten standards, and curriculum.
• Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K CLASS observation reliability preferred.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and with community resources.

Responsibilities

• Visit Type III centers and family child care providers to foster best practices and continuous improvement.
• Provide targeted coaching and technical assistance per program guidelines and Louisiana DOE.
• Model, guide and support development of age-appropriate lesson plans and assessments.
• Prepare reports on visits and contribute to project evaluations.
• Organize in-service training and connect teachers with resources.
• Collaborate with supervisors to implement personal professional development plans.
