Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks a Production Underwriter for the E&S Construction team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role underwrites new and renewal business, analyzes risk information for coverage and pricing, and collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to clarify details and inform decisions.

The position emphasizes on-site work four days a week with one remote day, supports marketing and relationship building with brokers, and offers growth within Great American Risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of related insurance experience.
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation preferred.
• Ability to travel around 10% of the time.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical, negotiation and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and underwrites new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes risk information to make informed decisions on coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain necessary information and clarify details.
• Orders reports and screens to inform decisions and ensures documentation complies with regulations.
• Communicates underwriting decisions clearly to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
