Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Production Underwriting Specialist to join our Cincinnati, OH or Windsor, CT offices. The role requires on-site work four days a week with one day remote, and involves leading underwriting evaluations for new and renewal business, collaborating with actuaries and brokers, and driving market growth.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in commercial underwriting, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Generally, a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial underwriting.
• Viewed as a senior resource on the Underwriting team and provides guidance to lower-level positions.
• Up to 15% travel required.

Responsabilités

• Leads the evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business in line with guidelines and risk appetite.
• Analyzes complex risk data to determine coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain necessary information and provide guidance.
• Procuries and analyzes supplementary reports to support underwriting decisions.
• Ensures documentation of underwriting decisions and compliance with regulations.
• Evaluates complex renewals and modifications for risk mitigation and enhancements.
• Communicates underwriting strategies to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Keeps updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
• Maintains relationships with customers and coworkers to generate and retain profitable business.
• Leads development and execution of marketing strategies to promote products to brokers and agents.
• Monitors underwriting and marketing practices and supports strategic adjustments.
