Great American Risk Solutions in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Production Underwriter or Senior Production Underwriter for the Select Casualty unit. The role focuses on risk selection, pricing, retention and profitability to meet divisional goals.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3–10+ years of underwriting experience, and strong communication with proficiency in rating systems and MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Generally, 3-10+ years of commercial underwriting experience.
• Must have strong communication skills to build and leverage relationships.
• Must have hands-on experience with rating systems and MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
• Completion of or progression towards CPCU designation is a plus.
• Ability to travel to visit brokers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth and profitability per divisional objectives.
• Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers to attract and retain profitable business.
• Visits agents, brokers, and producers to retain accounts and build new opportunities.
• Administers and updates underwriting rules and guidelines and rating manual rules.
• Provides technical advice to lower level associates and other functional areas.
• May coach staff and participate in talent decisions.
