Job summary

Worky is seeking a contractor Web Developer with strong Drupal expertise to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of District government websites, including DC.gov and related agency properties.

You will design and implement Drupal-based solutions, build modules and themes, and ensure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility and security standards while collaborating with OCTO project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on Drupal development experience with Drupal 9/10/11.
• Strong PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Twig skills.
• Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and MySQL/MariaDB.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and ARIA roles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Drupal-based websites for DC.gov and district agencies.
• Build and customize Drupal modules, themes, content types, taxonomies, and views.
• Perform Drupal core and contributed module updates, security patches, and migrations.
• Integrate Drupal with enterprise systems and APIs; ensure accessibility and security compliance.
• Produce technical documentation and runbooks; provide Tier 3 production support.
