Job summary

Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a Motor Vehicle Representative for a telework hybrid role in California. The position handles information requests, analyzes driving records, explains forms and Vehicle Code provisions, and schedules hearings and reexaminations. Two positions are available.

New hires start at the minimum of the salary range with a requirement for a background investigation and U.S. work authorization. Telework is hybrid with occasional office reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, technical, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions; flexible in work assignments.
• Knowledge and comfort with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Respond to public, law enforcement, and agency requests by phone, correspondence, and in person.
• Update, review, and analyze driving records using the Driver Safety Case Management System.
• Explain and apply Vehicle Code provisions; schedule hearings and reexaminations; create case files and issue subpoenas.
