Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to support design for electric utility distribution projects in Concord, NH. The role involves developing construction work packages for OH, UG, or URD systems, using Bentley OpenUtilities Design, CAD, GIS, and WMS, with field and office work.

The position offers a hybrid remote schedule, requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 6+ months of relevant experience, and exposure to NESC, pole modeling, and power calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field
• 6+ months of prior relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or with a consulting/contracting company performing design engineering for electric utilities
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness to perform both field and office work

Responsibilities

• Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards.
• Project work may include new business and reliability designs and be developed using CAD, GIS, and WMS.
• Perform engineering calculations (poles, guying, cable pulling, transformer sizing, voltage drop).
• Prepare forestry trimming requests and assist with Right-of-Way and easement processes.
• Travel to project locations for field investigations.
