Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• 1 year office or customer service experience required.
• 1 year benefits or claims management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Makes claim determinations to approve routine disability claims or deny based on plan.
• Reviews medical information and consults with a nurse to assess disability.
• Determines benefits due and processes timely payments/adjustments.
• Communicates with claimants and providers to set expectations and status.
• Negotiates return to work with/without accommodations with physician and employer.
• Coordinates referrals to outside vendors or physician advisors as needed.
