Job summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a Health Statistics and Informatics Division Director to lead the Division of Health Statistics and Informatics and serve on the Department’s Senior Leadership Team. The role focuses on data collection, analysis, reporting, governance, and informatics strategy in a hybrid Waterbury, VT-based office.

The incumbent will supervise a large team, guide data modernization initiatives, and provide consultation on data systems to officials across departments.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in statistics, public health, public administration, or a related field with 3+ years in a public health program involving statistical analysis, including 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Or Master’s degree in statistics, public health, public administration, or a related field with 4+ years in a public health program involving statistical analysis, including 2+ years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide departmental and programmatic leadership for data activities such as data collection, analysis, reporting, and governance.
• Lead public health data initiatives, including data modernization.
• Supervise and oversee a large professional and technical staff.
• Direct informatics programs, public health registries, vital records, and evaluation and analysis functions.
