Job summary

FINRA in Washington, DC seeks a Director of Digital Strategy & Governance to lead digital strategy for internal and external platforms, establish governance standards, and drive data-led improvements across FINRA’s digital ecosystem.

The role partners with Corporate Communications, Technology, and business stakeholders, manages a team of managers and ICs, and focuses on career development while delivering on enterprise priorities and thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Digital Strategy, Communications, Marketing, Business, Information Systems, Journalism, or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in digital strategy, digital communications, platform management, product marketing, or corporate communications.
• Minimum of two (2) years supervising projects and mentoring junior staff, with strong collaborative and consultative skills across departments.
• Experience managing enterprise digital platforms and content management systems (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, SharePoint) and collaborating with technology teams to drive platform enhancements.
• Strong experience applying analytics, audience insights, and performance metrics to inform strategy and drive improvement across digital channels.
• Working knowledge of prototyping tools such as Axure or Adobe XD for supporting digital initiatives.
• Proficient in project management tools such as JIRA to plan, track, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong writing, editing and presentation skills for communicating complex digital concepts to leadership and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Deep understanding of KPIs and reporting frameworks to inform decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Leads digitl strategy across internal and external platforms, establishing vision, governance, and standards for a cohesive user-centered experience.
• Serves as strategic advisor on digital strategy, audience engagement, platform effectiveness, and communication approaches.
• Partners with Digital and Creative Strategy to maintain governance guardrails, publishing standards, accessibility, and best practices.
• Oversees digital editorial ecosystems to align content and campaigns with audience needs and platform capabilities.
• Uses analytics and performance insights to develop data-driven recommendations for strategy, content optimization, and platform enhancements.
• Directs cross-functional digital projects ensuring alignment among communications, technology, creative, and business stakeholders.
