Job summary

Bradford House Historical Association is seeking a Development Officer to advance individual and business giving, manage donor engagement and stewardship, and coordinate events. The role is hybrid with some remote work and requires weekly supervision meetings with the Executive Director.

The position emphasizes strong attention to detail, strategic fundraising, and relationship-building to drive revenue and donor retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; commensurate experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 2 years of direct solicitation or donor relations experience.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms (Little Green Light ideal), Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
• Ability to analyze complex data and synthesize insights for strategy.
• Understanding of nonprofit compliance and donor privacy laws.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• High discretion and professionalism with confidential information.
• Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–4 development campaigns (individual and business).
• Plan, manage, and implement campaigns.
• Support cultivation of Development Committee.
• Nurture current donor portfolio to improve retention.
• Identify and recruit new donors.
• Revitalize the Whiskey Rebel Society donor circle.
• Plan and coordinate donor cultivation and stewardship events.
• Develop relationships for event sponsorships and partnerships.
• Create regular reports for the Executive Director and board.
• Brief the Executive Director to maximize productive donor interactions.
