Job summary

Girls For A Change is seeking an early- to mid-career Development Manager to support fundraising, grant development, donor stewardship, and long-term financial sustainability. The role focuses on identifying and securing mission-aligned funding, developing grant proposals, and engaging donors through various channels.

Based in Richmond, VA, this hybrid, in-person role requires four days on-site with up to one remote day per week and occasional evening/weekend commitments for events and programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit development and fundraising required or strongly preferred.
• Ability to translate GFAC's mission into compelling funding proposals.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other institutional sources.
• Develop grant proposals aligned with GFAC's mission and program outcomes.
• Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to develop budgets and supporting documentation.
• Monitor philanthropic trends and emerging funding opportunities.
• Coordinate grant submissions and maintain records of applications, awards, and deadlines.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports for funders and ensure grant compliance.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders and donors; support donor stewardship.
• Draft fundraising appeals, donor communications, and newsletters; maintain development calendar.
• Track fundraising performance and provide updates to leadership and board.
