Job summary

The Children’s Guild seeks a dynamic Managing Director of Development to lead the full scope of our Fundraising and Grants operation. This hybrid role emphasizes relationship building, donor cultivation, and driving both contributed revenue and grant funding in alignment with our mission.

Reporting to senior leadership, the MD will supervise the Grants Writer, own the grants strategy, and help build a broader development team starting FY2028.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and/or grants management.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or department leadership role.
• Proven ability to cultivate major gifts and manage donor relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising and grants strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
• Lead annual giving programs and oversee grant identification, cultivation, and reporting.
• Supervise Grants Writer and collaborate with Marketing on donor communications.
• Build partnerships with community, corporate, and foundation funders; represent the organization externally.
