Job summary

Fisher Associates in Sugar Land, TX seeks a Design Engineer to support civil site design for energy infrastructure, including solar, wind, electric and gas utilities, pipelines, and power systems.

You will apply your civil engineering experience in site design, stormwater, permitting, and coordination with regulatory agencies and clients to deliver projects that meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience in energy/utilities/land development.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with National Grid, National Fuel Gas, or other utility projects.
• Ability to own projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design site layouts, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater, and erosion control solutions.
• Develop plans, calculations, estimates, reports, and construction documents.
• Support stormwater and environmental permitting initiatives and ensure designs comply with regulations.
• Lead environmental assessments and permitting efforts with clients and regulators.
• Support electric, gas, and telecom utility design and Environmental Management & Construction Plans (EM&CP).
• Oversee construction progress to ensure work follows plans and safety standards.
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for renewable energy, oil & gas, and utility projects.
