Job summary

Fisher Associates is seeking an Energy Project Engineer—Civil in Canonsburg, PA to lead civil design for utility and renewable energy projects, including pipelines, substations, and energy storage facilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage design from concept through construction, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in utility or renewable energy design.
• Licensed PE or ability to obtain licensure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with linear utility corridor projects.
• Familiarity with local zoning, DOT permitting and SEQR processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for utility and renewable energy projects.
• Develop design plans, drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Provide construction support through site visits, clarifications, and design reviews.
• Prepare SWPPPs and stormwater designs per regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate tasks with project scope, schedule, and budget; support project managers.
• Maintain accurate project records and budgeting information.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and provide guidance to team; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and foster technical development.
