Job summary

Fisher Associates in Canonsburg, PA is seeking a Design Engineer to support civil engineering design for solar, wind, utilities, pipelines, and power systems. You will apply your civil expertise to site design, stormwater, utility coordination, environmental permitting, and construction while collaborating with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers ownership of meaningful design work on energy infrastructure with mentoring and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years civil engineering experience in energy, utilities, or land development.
• EIT required; PE preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with National Grid, National Fuel Gas, or other utility projects.
• Proven ability to deliver quality work with sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Design site layouts, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater, and erosion control.
• Develop plans, calculations, estimates, reports, and construction documents.
• Support permitting initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations and codes.
• Lead environmental assessments and permitting efforts with clients and agencies.
• Support electric, gas, and telecom utility design and EMCP development.
• Oversee construction progress and ensure adherence to plans and safety standards.
• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for energy and utility projects.
