Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Project Manager on the Design and Construction team to shape OpenAI’s global footprint from design to handover. Based in San Francisco, this hybrid role involves regular office days and travel to project sites, with relocation assistance available.

You will oversee complex projects, collaborate across internal teams and external vendors, and drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure value and quality across milestones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering commercial interiors and workplace environments, including TI projects.
• Experience managing multiple projects across geographies with on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Strong leadership, ownership, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute a wide range of projects—from retrofits to large-scale buildouts—defining scope, staffing, and delivering on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Corporate Security, IT, Finance, and external stakeholders including contractors and architects.
• Manage capital budget planning, variance tracking, and financial reporting for all projects.
• Conduct detailed project estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to evolve design and construction processes.
• Engage and manage external vendors to deliver high-quality work.
