Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Database Advisor to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise database solutions across FedEx systems. You will drive scalable, cost-efficient cloud database strategies in a modern cloud environment and mentor junior DBAs.

You will collaborate with business owners, development, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable data services, ensure governance, and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with database administration, design, and performance optimization.
• Experience supporting large-scale production database environments and modernization initiatives.
• Deep expertise with relational and NoSQL concepts including data modeling and indexing.
• Proficiency with cloud DB services (PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, Spanner) and Terraform.
• Experience planning and executing minimal-downtime migrations using DMS, Datastream, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise database solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis for database issues and outages.
• Lead or support database migrations, upgrades, and modernization efforts.
• Design, review, and optimize database structures, data models, and queries.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to database architecture and processes.
