Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Data Scientist to design, develop, and maintain data analyses and visualizations that support our audit plan. You will extract data from Teradata, SQL, and Oracle, validate results, and present insights to the audit team for oversight and decision making.

This hybrid role (four days in office, one day remote) emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to research requirements, create dashboards, and drive improvements in data quality and reporting across Spectrum.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of database design, SQL and data warehousing
• Advanced SQL development and optimization background
• Knowledge of data visualization and presentation methods for data analysis and interpretation, including performance of dashboards, generating, managing and delivering presentations and reports capable of yielding insights and actionable results
• Ability to understand business processes to ensure data and information integrity when importing from source systems.
• Ability to present analysis to our audit teams clearly and concisely
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in teams towards a shared goal
• Ability to interface with various levels in an organization
• Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools
• Capable of working independently to solve problems under deadlines and to manage multiple projects/priorities under time constraints

Responsibilities

• Understand the source data and business process
• Independently write code to extract data from various sources (Teradata, SQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Develop code to manipulate and clean data as needed based on requirements gathered in conjunction with the Manager, Data Science.
• Design and execute data validations and quality checks to ensure complete and accurate populations.
• Design and build visualization solutions with our end users in mind to drive efficiency and effective anomaly identification.
• Refreshing and optimizing existing analytics based on internal and external feedback.
• Identify risks and escape to management appropriately.
• Participate in discussions and interface with various departments to research, define, and document requirements.
• Proactively seek clarification of requirements and direction; takes responsibility when needed.
• Executes special projects as needed and performs other duties as requested.
