Job summary

NIIC National Interstate Insurance Company in Richfield (hybrid) is seeking a Data Reporting Analyst to join our analytics team. You will gather and analyze data, build reports, and deliver dashboards to support business decisions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 3+ years in data analytics; proficiency in Cognos, Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI is expected. Insurance background is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in data analytics, reporting or related field.
• Certifications such as AIDM or INS encouraged.
• Proficient with Cognos, Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI and scripting; ETL knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, analyzes, and interprets large volumes of data from multiple sources to support business objectives.
• Ensures data integrity and accuracy by performing regular data audits and validation checks.
• Maintains and updates databases, ensuring data is organized and accessible for reporting.
• Develops, designs, and generates reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights.
• Analyzes trends and patterns to identify opportunities for improvement and inform decisions.
• Collaborates with departments to understand their data reporting needs and deliver customized solutions.
• Presents findings to management and stakeholders clearly.
• Implements process improvements for data collection, analysis, and reporting efficiency.
• Maintains documentation for data processes and data dictionaries.
• Performs other duties as assigned
