Motion Recruitment in Herndon, VA is seeking a Data Administrator to support administration, maintenance, security, and performance of enterprise data platforms and database environments.

This hybrid role requires in-office presence three days a week and offers opportunities to work across data governance, cloud environments, analytics, and connectivity, helping ensure data remains accurate, secure, and accessible to authorized users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or related field.
• Experience administering relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database query optimization.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, cloud environments, or analytics technologies.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy, security, and compliance principles.
• Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Understanding of role-based security and access management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
• Must be a US Citizen and hold only US citizenship — no dual citizens

Responsibilities

• Administer user roles, permissions, teams, and security settings across enterprise data platforms
• Monitor database and platform performance and troubleshoot issues
• Support data connectivity between source systems and analytics platforms
• Manage access controls, connections, and governance processes
• Support enterprise reporting, dashboards, analytics, and planning environments
• Assist with data modeling and semantic layer support
• Troubleshoot access, connectivity, and performance issues
• Support backup, recovery, monitoring, and system reliability processes
• Assist analysts, developers, and business users with data-related issues
• Maintain security documentation, access records, and audit support materials
• Help ensure enterprise data remains accurate, secure, compliant, and accessible
