Job summary

The ACLU is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join the Analytics division of the Technology Department in New York, NY. The role focuses on transforming data into analysis-ready forms, building Python ETL pipelines, and migrating CRM data as the organization moves to a new CRM system.

This is a hybrid role with in-office requirements two days per week. You will work with data scientists, data engineers, analysts, and business users on data models, dbt, and data quality to support fundraising,

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with data warehouses and SQL (e.g., Redshift)
• Experience building data models and ETL in a business setting
• Undergraduate degree in an analytical field or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Python
• Experience with BI tools like Hex, Tableau, Looker
• Familiar with CRM/volunteer systems such as Salesforce, Blackbaud, or VAN

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models using dbt for reporting and analytics
• Collaborate on CRM migrations and rebuild dbt models for essential reporting
• Build Python ETL pipelines with Dagster to move data into warehouses or data lakes
• Scrape data from public sources to support advocacy projects
• Ensure high-quality, timely data is available for stakeholders
• Use data warehousing and SQL best practices to ensure reliable analytics
• Partner with internal teams to define and document data practices
• Provide data support for fast-developing campaigns with Analytics teams
