Job summary

Trupanion is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize reliable data systems on a Databricks Lakehouse platform hosted in Azure. You will focus on data quality, governance, and auditable pipelines to support analytics.

The role is open across the US with a Seattle/East Coast preference and a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days/week in Seattle). You will collaborate with analytics and data science teams to deliver gold-layer data marts and robust data contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years building high-performance data pipelines.
• Databricks: Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog.
• Data quality, governance, and automated testing experience.
• CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable ingestion pipelines and data availability.
• Deliver Gold-layer data marts and schemas with analytics teams.
• Configure automated data validation gates to catch bad data.
• Maintain automated data quality tests across transformations.
• Document data assets and metadata for discoverability.
• Collaborate with downstream teams and unblock analysts.
