Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Consultant, Data Engineer to join the Altoids line within the Enterprise Data Office. You will design and implement Databricks-based data pipelines and Delta Lake layers to support the Enterprise Data Lakehouse initiative in Columbus, OH.

You will develop Python/SQL transformations, partner with engineers and stakeholders, ensure data quality, and contribute to production support and scalable patterns in a hybrid in-office model (Columbus, OH, two days per week).

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of hands-on Databricks/Delta Lake/Python/SQL experience.
• Experience building enterprise data pipelines and lakehouse or data-platform solutions.
• Understanding of data quality, modeling, performance, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Databricks and Delta Lake data pipelines.
• Develop Python and SQL transformations, data models, and data-quality checks.
• Establish scalable lakehouse patterns for ingestion and consumption.
• Partner with Altoids engineers, PMs, architects, analysts and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot pipeline and data-quality issues; support monitoring and production.
• Create reusable engineering patterns and documentation for the EDL.
