Job summary

The Hartford is offering a Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 – Data Engineer Intern in Hartford, CT. This internship provides hands-on experience building data pipelines, supporting analytics, and contributing to AI-driven insights within an insurance environment.

As an intern, you will gain exposure to Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, Snowflake, GitHub, and cloud platforms while collaborating with mentors and teams across Technology, Data, AI, and Operations. Authorization to work in the US is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student expected to graduate May 2028 with GPA 3.0+.
• Pursuing STEM degree in CS, Engineering, IT, MIS, Data Analytics, or math.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, and data pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and support data pipelines ingesting and transforming data.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to enable analytics and AI-driven solutions.
• Apply data engineering tools and cloud technologies to develop reliable data assets.
• Ensure data quality and performance through profiling and monitoring.
