Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Computer Operations Specialist for the Enterprise Technology - University Data Center. The role is hybrid, with three afternoons/evenings onsite and one afternoon/evening remote, supporting data center operations in Austin, TX.

The position emphasizes monitoring computer systems, responding to incidents, and performing data hall tasks. Requires three years of computer operations experience, strong customer service, and CJIS background

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen, resident, or officially recognized asylee; must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• High school graduation or GED.
• Three years of experience in operation of computers and auxiliary equipment.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Work seamlessly across organizational boundaries.
• Must complete and pass CJIS background check.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the operation of computer system consoles.
• Analyze and escalated reported issues coordinating resolution.
• Perform data halls tasks upon request: securing access to data centers; tier 1 technical assistance; escort UT personnel and vendors; data center site checks.
• Receive and ship parts/equipment and provide media destruction services; data center surplus is removed and delivered as needed.
• Maintain SLAs; drive on/off-campus using university vehicles per policy; email, project work, meetings and training; punctuality for assigned shift.
