Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Data Center Design & Performance Engineer to design and review electrical, mechanical, and site plans, ensuring they meet CoreSite’s build standards. The role requires independent decision-making and collaboration with facilities and operations teams to ensure equipment installations align with design intent.

The candidate will analyze system efficiency, reliability, and operability, define testing scopes, and provide QA sign-offs upon construction completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of data center operations and design experience.
• Strong knowledge of data center design, operations, and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to travel up to 40% for testing and construction activities.
• Proactive problem-solving and effective communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, and BMS systems for expansion and upgrades.
• Define testing scope and commissioning plans to ensure design operability.
• Provide QA sign-off for engineered systems at project end.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering for custom engineering solutions.
• Support complex opportunities with technical expertise during sales cycles.
• Review installed systems to optimize efficiency and reliability.
• Provide engineering support to Data Center Operations.
