Good Reason Houston is seeking a Manager, Quantitative Research & Data Analytics to shape insights across our education initiatives in Houston. You will build data systems, write reproducible R code, and lead dashboards from Tableau to R Shiny.

You will collaborate with researchers and external partners to inform strategies that improve student outcomes. You will mentor staff, manage data workflows, and translate complex data into actionable guidance for district leaders and funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years of professional quantitative research or data analytics.
• Experience leading quantitative research and data analytics projects.
• Strong project management experience.
• Proficient in R for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
• Experience with GitHub and reproducible, documented code.
• Experience with SQL or relational databases preferred.
• Experience with Tableau; R Shiny a plus.
• Experience with Texas public education data (TAPR, PEIMS, STAAR) or similar.
• Working knowledge of FERPA and masking counts in public reporting.

Responsabilités

• Research agenda development and execution across program areas.
• Design analytic plans and perform descriptive, regression, and cohort analyses in R.
• Develop and maintain dashboards in Tableau and R Shiny; deploy applications.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners on research questions and data collection.
• Manage the team’s SQL database structure, data dictionary, and refreshes.
• Mentor and manage an Associate, Data Analytics, and lead data trainings.
