Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking an Associate Attorney for a global AmLaw 50 law firm in the Cybersecurity, Privacy & AI practice. The role is hybrid with locations in Boston/Los Angeles/San Francisco and requires 4–7 years of relevant experience.

Candidates should have a JD from a top-tier law school, active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, and substantial experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters. Large firm experience is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience advising clients on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including strategic counseling and compliance
• Experience supporting deal diligence in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and commercial transactions
• Working familiarity with data-driven technologies, including AI/ML, biometrics, and related global regulatory frameworks
• Familiarity with GDPR / UK GDPR, cross-border data transfers, and international privacy regimes preferred
• Exposure to laws such as HIPAA, ECPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, VPPA, FERPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other state consumer privacy and data breach laws is a plus
• Experience with data breach response, incident investigations, and defense of regulatory enforcement actions brought by state attorneys general, the FTC, OCR/HHS, SEC cybersecurity regulators, or EU authorities is a plus
• Large law firm experience required
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex, fast-moving matters in a collaborative team environment
