Job summary

We Do The Search represents a global AmLaw 50 law firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Cybersecurity, Privacy & AI practice in a hybrid role based in Boston with opportunities in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The candidate will advise on state, federal, and international privacy laws, participate in strategic counseling and compliance, and support deal diligence for mergers, financings, and commercial transactions involving data-driven technologies.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of substantive experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters.
• Hands-on experience advising clients on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including strategic counseling and compliance.
• Experience supporting deal diligence in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and commercial transactions.
• Familiarity with GDPR/UK GDPR, cross-border data transfers, and international privacy regimes preferred.
• Exposure to laws such as HIPAA, ECPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, VPPA, FERPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other state privacy and data breach laws a plus.
• Experience with data breach response, incident investigations, and defense of regulatory enforcement actions.

Our client, a global****AmLaw 50 law firm, with a globallyrecognized Cybersecurity, Privacy & AI practice , is seeking a highly qualified Associate Attorney to join its collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Candidate Profile

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.

• Active Bar Admission in relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.

• 4-7 years of substantive experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection matters

• Hands-on experience advising clients on state, federal, and international privacy laws, including strategic counseling and compliance

• Experience supporting deal diligence in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and commercial transactions

• Working familiarity with data-driven technologies , including AI/ML, biometrics, and related global regulatory frameworks

• Familiarity with GDPR / UK GDPR, cross-border data transfers, and international privacy regimes preferred

• Exposure to laws such as HIPAA, ECPA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, VPPA, FERPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other state consumer privacy and data breach laws is a plus

• Experience with data breach response , incident investigations, and defense of regulatory enforcement actions brought by state attorneys general, the FTC, OCR/HHS, SEC cybersecurity regulators, or EU authorities is a plus

• Large law firm experience required

• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex, fast-moving matters in a collaborative team environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive Salary: $310,000, commensurate with experience and class year.
