AvalonBay Communities, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative in Virginia Beach, VA for a hybrid role. The position handles customer account administration in our inbound call center with schedule typically Monday–Friday, 10:00am–7:00pm EST.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Hybrid work experience preferred.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math proficiency and data entry ability.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Professionally service inbound and outbound calls.
• Provide empathetic, polite, and professional information.
• Use active listening to understand concerns and offer solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues with available tools and workflows.
• Follow procedures, conduct account research, and follow up.
• Assist customers with payment processing and portal navigation.
• Document interactions accurately in the system.
• Share feedback with supervisors to improve operations.
• Participate in coaching and training; must be visible on camera when working from home.
• Maintain shift schedule adherence and punctuality.
