Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Technical Customer Support Specialist – Non-IT in Allentown, PA.

This role provides expert front-line support for mechanical functionality and troubleshooting of SHI cryogenic products, coordinating actions with sales, engineering and production. The ideal candidate offers a mechanical/electrical engineering background and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills and experience with CRM systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and /or Electrical Engineering, Cryogenic Engineering, Engineering Technology, plus 5 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing prompt, accurate support on product functionality, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding operation, installation, and maintenance of SHI cryogenic products, including coldheads, helium-based compressors and/or cryopumps and associated equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues using structured problem-solving methods, escalating complex cases when required.
