Job summary

J. Sheppard Associates, a respected New York City law firm, seeks a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Associate with 4–7 years of experience to join its established practice representing property owners, developers, landlords and real estate investors.

You will work directly with a senior partner, handling disputes from inception to resolution, drafting motions, conducting discovery and depositions, negotiating settlements and advising clients in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Meaningful commercial litigation experience, preferably in real estate.
• Experience with commercial landlord-tenant disputes is highly desirable.
• Admission to the New York Bar is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle significant real estate disputes from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue substantive motions and engage in discovery and depositions.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients while working with senior partners.
• Develop litigation strategies and provide thoughtful recommendations.
